How the unit works

How the F-01 Emarat 40 FT mobile fueling unit works (illustrative animation)A 40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit, 42,600 L gross, with 6 mm inner and outer tank walls and 75 mm fire-guard insulation. A road tanker fills a compartment through the 3 in fill point and overfill protection valve while vapour returns through the vapour-recovery connection, with static earthing connected. An ATG probe and console monitor the level, and interstitial leak sensing monitors the space between the walls. A submersible turbine pump sends fuel through the 2 in product line to the dispenser, with meter and filter, and through the hose and nozzle to the vehicle. Breather and emergency vents protect the tank, design pressure 7 kPa. A 40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit: bulk filling from a road tanker, double-wall storage with level and leak monitoring, and dispensing through a submersible turbine pump and dispenser.

The animation follows the fuel through the systems described above: fill point, overfill protection and vapour recovery, ATG and interstitial leak sensing, the 2 in product line to the dispenser, breather and emergency venting, and the safety systems around them.

Engineering Takeaway

This job went well past CAD. I put together a mobile fuel storage and dispensing system, coordinated several project functions, and held design responsibility from tender to field acceptance.
