Project for manufacture and supply of a 40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit.
40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit for Emarat, Dubai, UAE. Project model MFU-3A. My role covered design leadership, project coordination and lead mechanical/package design, from tender to SAT.
Project for manufacture and supply of a 40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit.
Safe fill capacity 40,500 L with dual-compartment construction.
Involved from tender through design, procurement, manufacturing, FAT and SAT.
DESIGNED: Complete 3D model in SolidWorks and 2D engineering drawings in AutoCAD for the mobile fueling package and its mechanical interfaces.
COORDINATED: Procurement, production and instrumentation, plus the project interfaces, working to the Emarat requirements that applied to this unit.
LED: Design coordination as Head of Design Department, Project Coordinator and Lead Mechanical/Package Designer, including customer-facing technical coordination.
EXECUTED: Supported the project from tender submission and award through manufacturing, FAT and SAT.
42,600 L gross capacity with 40,500 L safe-fill capacity, 6 mm inner and outer walls and a 75 mm fire-guard insulation arrangement.
Design pressure 7 kPa and leak pressure test 21 kPa. Weld coefficient 0.85; inspection and welding references included NB/T 47013 and NB/T 47015.
Package included 3 in fill, 1.5 in bowser, 2 in product delivery, 2 in drain, vapor-recovery connections and breather/emergency vent arrangements.
Integrated dispenser, submersible turbine pump, ATG console/probe, overfill protection, interstitial leak sensing and associated fueling interfaces.
Explosion-proof control panel/lighting, static earthing, emergency ventilation, interstitial and primary emergency venting, spill/drainage provisions and fire-safety equipment.
The drawing package references UL 142 and UL 2085 for tank design/build/test/certification, with ASME B16.5 Class 150 flanges and other project-specific inspection/welding requirements.
A 40 FT dual-compartment mobile fueling unit: bulk filling from a road tanker, double-wall storage with level and leak monitoring, and dispensing through a submersible turbine pump and dispenser.
The animation follows the fuel through the systems described above: fill point, overfill protection and vapour recovery, ATG and interstitial leak sensing, the 2 in product line to the dispenser, breather and emergency venting, and the safety systems around them.
Original illustrative animation · not a project drawing · component positions simplified. Use the step buttons to walk through it.
Photographs from commissioning and customer inspection, and inside the equipment cabinet: fill, vapor-recovery and drain connections, valve manifold and explosion-proof controls.

A delegation from Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Co. (Oman) at the Emarat station on this project, as part of the same visit as the F-07 demo unit walk-round.

This job went well past CAD. I put together a mobile fuel storage and dispensing system, coordinated several project functions, and held design responsibility from tender to field acceptance.
